Account book of a dressmaker , identified on f. 72r as S. Randall, including payments for yard goods, ribbons, lace, needles, thimbles, etc., and household expenses, from a time shortly before her wedding, through her confinement for a child. She received a quarterly allowance (later a yearly allowance) from W. Randall. Her expenses include entries for "lost at cards," tickets for plays, Bach concerts, the opera, the Pantheon, several Antient Concert subscriptions, and tickets "for musick in Westminster Abbey" as well as expenses for medicine, doctors, donations to charity and church. Section from ff. 67-74 is an "Account of Expense for Little One," includes payments to attendants during her confinement, wet nurses, and other expenses for her child.
